November 3, 4, 5, 2006 eighteen Traveleer rigs camped at one
of their favorite RV parks Wine Country RV Resort. Some campers arrived on
Thursday the remaining on Friday. Again perfectly lovely weather smiled on
us.
Friday evening everyone joined for a potluck dinner in the
lodge followed by hand and foot card games.
Coffee and pastries were Saturday morning's fare for
breakfast. After having their morning coffee our golfers headed to the golf
course. Bill Stanley and Harvey Lobo were the winners of their tournament. At
noon our champagne brunch with tasty treats was hosted by Diana and Mike Goshay
and Sandee and Dan Daniel, although the Daniel's were unable to attend.
Following brunch our meeting was held. Larry Bowman was unable to attend and
Becky Griffith filled in as secretary.
Bob Lopez announced that the new pantry trailer had
arrived. He stated that he would need volunteers to build shelves. Harvey
Lobo announced that the Elks trailer park was well underway. The park will have
fifteen spaces with electric, water and sewer. During the daytime, if you ride
by the Lodge, you will see many of our Traveleers busy at work helping with the
layout and laying utilities. Mike Goshay suggested an honor movie swap. Many
people have movies that they no longer want to watch, so bring them in and swap
them for ones you haven't seen. A check was received from Dianne Crowder in
memory of her parents Barbara and Joe Knight and her husband John Crowder. At
the December meeting it will be decided what is the best use of the contribution.
Another contribution to the Traveleers came from Audrey Mussell. She has donated
a commercial meat slicer. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated and well
used.
Dinner Saturday was prepared and served by Trail Bosses
Harvey and Jeannie Lobo and Hank and Theresa Ramirez. They served us a
delicious dinner of BBQ chicken, scalloped potatoes, salad and desert. Jeannie
Lobo's Thanksgiving decorations added to the spirit of the season. Great job Trail
Bosses. After dinner Audrey Mussel entertained us with her hilarious hat
routine. While exchanging her hat with every story, she had everyone laughing.
It was great fun Audrey. The evening ended with everyone heading to their
rigs. Unusual but no one stayed to play cards that night.
Sunday morning Audrey Mussell and Betty and Dan Kersten
served us a breakfast of SOS, coffee and juice. Audrey added to the
Thanksgiving spirit with her turkey hat, apron and table decorations.
Thanks to Saturday evening's cleanup crew of Cindy Roland,
Kyle Stotko and Mike Roland. Thanks go to those who helped cleanup Sunday
morning and especially to Mike Roland who helped out with the final cleanup and
mopping.
The January campout will be at Holiday RV Park on Doliver Street
in Pismo Beach on January 12, 13 and 14.
