The Santa Maria Rod and Gun Club was the setting for the Annual Traveleers Christmas Party on December 8th, 9th, & 10th. With the weather being cold and the forecast for rain we had 8 rigs that dry camped during the 3 day event.

Thursday morning Rudy Garcia, Les Leal, Bill Orvis ,and Don Hathaway, Set up tables and prepared the room for Cheryl Teshera and her decorating crew Barbara Diaz, Corinne Hathaway, Suzanne Leal, Jeannie Lobo, Merrilee Lopez, and Dolores Orvis. The decorations were bought by Aldean Voris. A beautiful Christmas tree was donated by Marsalek Tree farms in Nipomo and was delivered by Van Diaz.

It was a very busy morning setting tables and decorating them with dancing Santa Clauses, snowmen, minature Christmas trees and decorating the fireplace. The team then decorated the Christmas tree after Don Hathaway did a wonderful job putting the lights on. When they were finished the room looked fantastic and created a warm and colorful Christmas Spirit.

The Christmas weekend started on Friday afternoon with Bloody Marys being served by Les Leal and Beef Dip Sandwiches& chips served by Jack and Liz Culley . Over 30 travleers enjoyed the lunch and enjoyed the afternoon playing table games and some playing washooes.

Friday evening we had a slumber party that began with an attitude adjustment hour followed by a fantastic Pot luck dinner. After dinner we were entertained by the Righetti High School Jazz band. They played jazz and swing music and had the crowd dancing to their beat. After the concert, we played a Christmas Carol game. Following the game

Theresa Ramirez and Richard Moore did a wonderful job entertaining us with a medley of songs and Karaoke. Fun and laughs were had by all. We had some very interesting singing and dancing going on during the evening.

Saturday morning started out with Bucky Swetkovich coming by and making coffee and having pastries and bagels ready for breakfast. At noon we had our champagne brunch with all the tasty hors-d?oeuvres. The champagne hosts were Hank & Teresa Ramirez Celebrating their 15th Anniversary, Jack & Liz Culley Celebrating their 46th Anniversary, and Gordon and Claire Chambers celebrating their 50th Anniversary. We had a very short meeting and everyone brought a gift for the raffle that was held by Donna Newman and Gail Bryars. The afternoon was spent changing the table settings for the evening by Cheryl and her team and then playing table games. Saturday evening started out with happy hour. Before dinner we sang Silent Night by candlelight and had a holiday blessing given by Aldean Voris. We then had a delicious Prime Rib Dinner that was prepared by Ike Simas and his crew and served by Roland and Verda. Cathy and Doreen were our drink servers. The evening ended with dancing until midnight. Everyone had a great time.

Sunday morning was spent taking down and cleaning up the hall. I would like to thank all who helped in making the Christmas party a success with special thanks to all the above mentioned and to Charlie High for coming by Sunday morning to take the tree to the women?s shelter, Bucky for coming again on Sunday to make coffee for everyone, Bob Lopez & Harvey Lobo for helping out on Sunday.
